Best of the West

After spending several nights camping, we were so grateful to be invited by the Best Western Plus Canyonlands in Moab to spend a few nights.  Rolling up to the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised.  It was much nicer than any other Best Western we had ever seen or stayed at.

The rooms were great – spacious, comfortable beds, a separate vanity outside of the bathroom and nice natural light.  We sighed huge breaths of relief, it was going to be a really nice and relaxing few days filled with hot showers, a warm bed, a relaxing pool and a hot breakfast.  The amenities went above and beyond our expectations and made us feel like royalty after spending several nights out in a tent.

After settling in, we put together a little tapas plate to enjoy poolside while we relaxed.DSC04064

We must have looked a mixture of relieved and weathered, because a hotel guest swam by us and said “man, looks like you really needed those beers.”  We both laughed, and agreed that, yes, after sleeping in the snow, we definitely needed a warm pool and a cold beer.

After a greats night sleep, we were eager to wake up and enjoy the hot breakfast.  They definitely had something for everyone on offer, but I settled on anything hot, since we had only been having granola bars and dry cereal up until to this point.

The breakfast was really delicious (and included for hotel guests) and the views from the breakfast room were great too.

It was great to get a few nights away from the tent.  The hotel was quiet, comfortable and just what we needed.  A big thanks to the Best Western Plus for hosting us, it was definitely the recharge that we needed to keep truckin’ on.
