On the Isle of Capri

The next stop on my Italian adventure was the Isle of Capri.  I had this picture in my mind of what Capri would look like – sort of out of the movies, glamorous and tropical.  And luckily for me, it had turned out to be every bit what I had imagined and more.

Capri is beautiful – the windy cobblestone streets, the sparkling waters, the flowers, the designer stores, the cafès filled to the brim with beautiful people – it’s really quite idyllic.

There was no better place to start my time on Capri than at Hotel Villa Brunella;  a beautiful hotel with stunning views of Capri.  They had kindly invited me to stay with them during my time on Capri, and it was such a wonderful experience.

As soon as I arrived, the hotel made sure that I entered vacation mode.  The took care of my luggage, made my dinner reservations, and made themselves available for any requests.

views of the pool and loungers – I loved having the option to either go to the pool or stay and lounge on my private terrace

So, how did I spend my time on Capri?  I basically rotated between 2 activities: eating and lying in the sun.  It was really nice to relax, unwind and let Capri do it’s magic.

I had a quick 10 min. walk from Villa Brunella – you can also arrive by boat

Since there are a lot of mixed reviews about La Fontelina out there, here is what I thought:  There is no other place like it in the sense that it is amazing to be on these loungers right on the sea; however, it is ghastly overpriced (you don’t even want to know), and the food was average at best.  Am I glad that I went?  Of course, it was an experience.  Would I go back?  Probably not.

Capri is truly a magical, special place.  I am so glad that I got to experience the lure of the island.  I can’t wait to go back and enjoy another day watching the sparkling sea while enjoying my lounger and a cool drink.

Hotel Villa Brunella had invited me for a complimentary stay, however, no financial compensation was received.  All opinions expressed here are my own, and were written by me.
