I’m on the Seafood Diet…

…I eat everything that I sea.

I know, I know, a little bit corny, but as Iris says in “The Holiday“, “I’m looking for corny in my life.”  The joke is actually a shout out to my Dad, who finds that joke particularly funny, and quite entertaining every time he tells it…and retells it.  But who cares how many times he has told it, because nothing is better than seeing someone laugh and enjoy themselves.

Yesterday in the States we celebrated Martin Luther King Day – and so in our own way, we celebrated with a great cookout of all things seafoodery – shrimp, mussels, clams, scallops, calamari, rock cod, salmon and sea bass.  I grilled everything with some evoo, salt and pepper.  I grilled a few lemons along with it all, and then juiced them over the seafood.  The fresh lemon makes for quite the party on your plate and palate!  We paired our dinner with a Sicilian rosé, perfect for a beautifully mild night.  And then we topped it all off with some chocolate covered strawberries…it was quite a home-run.  I hope that you all enjoyed a great holiday as well!

My apologies for the lack of pictures.  I just got a new camera, which I excitedly used to take some deliciously gorgeous photos of our dinner.  I uploaded them per usual, but for some reason I cannot import them into my post.  While I sort out these technical difficulties, you will have to rely on the power of imagination to visualize our seafood feast!
