If you’re looking for some delicious fresh seafood, then pop over to Oceanaire for their Admirals Hour. The service is always fabulous, and the food even better.
After snagging prime seating in front of the seafood display, we dug into the menu.
We settled on our drinks while debating what to start nibbling on.
Feeling a bit adventurous, I decided to order a couple (yes, literally a couple) of raw oysters. I’m not the biggest raw oyster fan, but after trying one of each that was on offer for the day, we ordered another round of the Chef’s Creek; sweet and petite!
We always try to order something new from the menu, but the real reason why we come to Admirals Hour is for the Oysters Rockefeller. They are perfection.
We decided on a cup of the Lobster Bisque to stir things up a bit. It was a little thinner than other bisque’s that we have had, but perfectly seasoned.
The Mr. was feeling a bit crabby, so he ordered the crab and lobster roll. The bun was buttered and grilled, but we both agreed that we wished it had had more lobster.
We ordered one more round of Oysters Rockefeller, and then feeling sufficiently stuffed, waddled home. On our walk, we both agreed how much better Oceanaire is compared to another very large seafood restaurant that has recently popped up in the Gaslamp. Sometimes new isn’t always better, and that is probably why for us, there is only one Admiral’s Hour in San Diego.
So now I want a random combination of white wine and fries… that plate of hot fries in the last photo looks sooo good (I’m assuming the fries were hot, lol)!! Looks like a very delicious dinner. You’re lucky you are in San Diego, beautiful city!
