Leaving Capitol Reef National Park felt a little bittersweet…all of the fruita, all of the pie…sigh. But, the show must go on, and so we did. We started our drive out of Capitol Reef and towards Moab with a planned stop along the way (another great suggestion by a fellow camper).
We had never driven through an open range before, and that was pretty fun. At first we didn’t think that we were going to see an cattle, but we ended up seeing a lot.
Moo-ving on from the cattle, we arrived at our pit-stop, Goblin Valley State Park. It’s a little bizarre getting there, because you are in the middle of the desert, and there is a just one little sign telling you to take the turn for the State Park. We both felt a little confused because we couldn’t see where it could possibly be, but then out of nowhere it just appeared.
So why is it called Goblin Valley? Because it is filled with Goblins of course!
Lots and lots of Goblins! (All of the tiny rock formations are the Goblins.) The best part is you get to go down and run among the Goblins!
Goblins as far and as wide as the eye can see. If you are out exploring in Utah, I can’t recommend this stop enough. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. It was very different than anything else we had done, and so much fun to run with the Goblins.
Wooow cool pics!
