Sometimes I get ideas for a new recipe completely out of the blue. We could be lying in bed, minutes away from slumber, and then suddenly I announce, “I’m thinking about trying to make…(insert recipe here).” I have no clue where this inspiration or these ideas come from, but what I do know is that they are typically my best recipes.
1 - 8 ounce Fresh Mozzarella Ball, grated 1 Can of Prepared Pizza Sauce, use as much or as little as you like 1 Thin Ham-steak Slice, browned in butter then cut into small pieces 3 Slices of Fresh Pineapple, grilled then sliced 1 Small Jalapeño, seeds removed and thinly sliced 1/4 Sweet Onion, thinly sliced 1 Ball of Pizza Dough (I use my ABI5 recipe, found here.) Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Optional - to shmear on your pizza dough.) AP Flour or Semolina Flour, use to roll out your pizza dough Hunger (Not required when pizza is on the menu, but suggested.)
Without a doubt I get my cooking creativity from my Mom – she was always whipping up something original and amazing for dinner when I was growing up. We were very lucky to get a different homemade hot meal on the table everyday of the week. And to this day, her tasty creations never cease to inspire me. So I guess that you could say that cooking creativity runs in the family.

A few days after we had gotten home from our travels, I was hit with the idea to create a spicy/smokey Hawaiian pizza. And while I truly have no clue where this recipe came from, as soon as I announced it to the hubby, he could barely contain his excitement. (And truthfully, I was just as excited as he was!)
And so here is the result of my creative spark, the 50th State Pizza – it’s a little sweet, a little smokey, a lotta cheesy and it has just the slightest suggestion of heat. This may not be the prettiest pizza that I have ever whipped up, but hey, this pizza has the taste, and that is all that matters.
So where will my inspiration strike next? Well, only time can tell. But in the meantime, I can guarantee you that we will happily be enjoying batch after batch of 50th State Pizza. After all, it was a recipe creation that we truly loved to pizza-s.
This pizza is absolutely bonkers delicious! I’m so lucky to get to taste all of your inspirational ideas, because they’re all amazing!
