I recently read something on the internet that went something like, “you know that you’re an adult when you start saying. . .next week shouldn’t be as busy. . .every week for the rest of your life.” And immediately I laughed out loud. This is me. For about as long as I can remember now, I’ve either been saying to Ryan that next week shouldn’t be as busy, that we should make plans for “xyz” when things “calm down,” or I’ve been thinking it. Yep, I guess that means that I’m officially an adult. Darn it.

Speaking of adulting, if the whole concept is still a bit confusing to you, or if you are having a hard time adjusting to “adult” life, you can now actually take a slew of different courses to help you make the transition. Go figure!
Cooking pasta well can be tricky. Overcooked, undercooked. Over sauced, under sauced. Even now, years into making pasta several times a week, there are still days when I just don’t get it right. Which is why I loved this article. Don’t ask me how I stumbled across it, because I really can’t remember. But I’m glad that I did, because now I will no longer be making the mistake of starting with hot water in my pasta pot.
I pride myself on my Midwestern roots. And cheese. Lots and lots of cheese. But I just learned something about the Midwest that I didn’t know. There is a small area in Northern Minnesota that is nicknamed “the Finnish Triangle.” Finally my love for Scandinavian coziness and Midwestern sensibilities have collided! Because really, what could be better than a warm fire, some candlelight, and a bowl of cheese curds?
As you guys know, I recently took a few weeks off from the blog. And while I definitely wouldn’t categorize my break as the result of burnout, I did find this article to have some interesting ideas on how to help deal with stress and prevent burnout from happening.
Learning Italian is no longer a skill on my ever-growing to-do list. Nope, it’s moreso morphed into, “increase and advance fluency.” And despite my greatest desires, there is sadly no quick trick when it comes to learning a new language. But over the years, I have found that changing things up has really been the key to my success. Reading a book, writing, singing, watching a show, using flash cards – simply trying to do as many different things as possible. And apparently I was onto something with that thought.
Not by a long shot would I consider myself a “Belieber,” but I’m not going to lie, this episode of Carpool Karaoke had me laughing and smiling nonstop. Not anything life changing, just a little something to add an extra dose of sunshine to your day.
Did you catch my post on organic city gardening? Well, as a little update, all of my plants have sprouted except for the basil. Which has led me to question whether I actually remembered to put the seeds in or not. Additionally, there seems to be some sort of weird brown fungus growing on some of the dirt. Apparently I am nowhere near out of the woods yet :(

I hope that you all enjoy the most beautiful and blessed Thursday!
I totally have that same issue-I foolishly think next week won’t be as busy, and then it somehow ends up feeling busier then the last one!
I’m so glad that I’m not the only one :) Well…hopefully next week really will be a little bit more relaxed for both of us Mary!!
