On Friday I decided that I wanted to whip up something sweet for after dinner. I looked through the pantry and it wasn’t as well stocked as I was hoping. I opened up the fridge, and there they were…4 beautiful apples. I knew exactly what I would bake.
About a year ago, I stumbled across this Apple Cake recipe on davidlebovitz.com . I have made several of David’s recipes, and they have always been fabulous, this one being no exception. What is so great about this cake is how easy it is to make, and how simple the ingredient list is. But don’t be fooled, this cake is packed with flavor.
whisk your dry ingredients
peel and core your apples
chop them up
whisk your eggs
stir in the melted butter
and then the flour
get your apples ready for a dip
get them all friendly with the batter
and voila! you are ready to bake
50ish minutes later…
yum…and the aroma…wish you could smell it
look at that golden buttery crust and those juicy apples
it is definitely time to dig in…
the Mr. likes a little powdered sugar
Anyway that you enjoy it, be warned, this cake is highly addictive!
