Jumping Puddles with the Boston Marriott Copley Place

Rain was in the forecast, and I was as happy as a clam. Real Fall weather, real seasonal changes, and real rain. It was so good to be back in Boston. But really, it always is.

I happily found myself situated in Back Bay, at (for me) a new hotel, the Boston Marriott Copley Place. And although the hotel was a first for me, the location felt just like home. The hotel was steps away from our old college stomping grounds, and quite ideally positioned to take you anywhere that you could possibly want to go in the city. I knew immediately that this was going to be the perfect home base for my adventures, rain or shine.

My mornings began as they always do when we are away, with the luxury of a little room service coffee. For whatever reason, ordering room service coffee is one of those simple pleasures in life that truly sparks joy for me. And to my surprise and delight, it wasn’t just any room service coffee, it was Starbucks. Oh yeah. Between my fresh delivery of Starbucks, and the unbeatable view of the city from my room, I knew that this was going to be a great trip.

One of my most favorite things to do in Boston (besides shopping and eating of course), is to walk. Just walk, walk, and then walk some more. The city itself is not just extremely walkable, but it also happens to be one of the most beautiful cities. (Even in the rain.)

So walk I did. For the few days that I had, I put on my rain boots, I suited up in my coziest sweater and rain jacket, and then I was on my way. From the hotel I was just minutes away from the beautiful Christian Science Reflecting Pool, the famous Newbury Street, and one perfectly rainy stroll away from the Boston Common.

My rain boots and umbrella carried me just about as far as my feet could handle. And when I was in need of a break, I hopped on the “T” and would take it back to the hotel. Back in my room, I rested my feet and I’d cozy up with an afternoon coffee before heading back out to enjoy a bit of rain-free shopping, courtesy of the Prudential Center and Copley Place.

I walked, I ate, I shopped, I cozied up, I splashed in puddles, and I enjoyed every single moment. My time in Boston was truly a slice of Fall heaven. In part it was thanks to Mother Nature, but also in large part to the Boston Marriott Copley Place. Because at the end of the day, nothing beats getting to feel right at home in your favorite city.

This post was written in partnership with the Boston Marriott Copley Place. Although the hotel provided me with a complimentary stay, my writing is an honest account of my experience.
